Thanks everyone.
THe two shots were completely different.
One is a fish shooting upstream.
This one is moving very slowly, taken with slow shutter speed.
I like both for different reasons

personally I preferred the first shot because it was more abstract, although this does
give better detail of the fish so I can see why some folks prefer this one too.

Much better "fish" shot, but to me doesn't look like it's moving, but you do get the motion of the stream. Not sure which is better sharp water/rocks and blurred fish, or blurred water and sharp fish... great shot since it makes you think both ways.

This one shows a good deal more detail on the fish than your other salmon shot, while the water is as nicely blurred. very well done,
