The day started out trippily enough...
There are two shout-outs to jude here.
One has to do with me remembering my dream as I was awakened abruptly this morning (at the ungodly hour of 8 a.m.).
The second is, to always have your camera with you -- you never know what you might see.
The dream involves a mallard duck who thought it was a hummingbird. In the dream, I'm scrambling to get my camera and take a picture of it as it was collecting nectar from our butterfly bush because frankly it was pretty weird and I didn't think anyone would ever believe me.
What a picture of the day that would have made!
But then the phone rang so I woke up and didn't get the shot; you'll just have to picture it in your head. Yet another shot that "got away".
Hey, I didn't say the dream was deep or fraught with meaning; I just said I remembered it!
Drove to see the Canadian band 'The Tragically Hip' in Chicago in the afternoon.
Had my camera out fiddling with it in the car just as we merged onto the Kennedy.

After the concert I got this shot of the Aragon Ballroom from the car: http://www.pbase.com/corvidae/image/35165097
The day wound to an end on LSD *, so it was a trippy end to a trippy day: http://www.pbase.com/corvidae/image/35165098
* (Lake Shore Drive) ...though at the concert someone did offer me some gum...?

From Inch An Hour
by The Tragically Hip
Tonight the winter may have missed it's mark
you can see your breath in Springside Park
coffee-coloured ice and peeling birch bark the
sound of rushing water in the dark
makes me feel the same way
an inch an hour two feet a day
to move through life
with very little else to say
but i'm helpless more with the people
than the space
I mean I'm helpless less with the people
than the space
