12-10-04 clean bill of health

We had the dreaded - well it's certainly dreaded on my part anyway - visit to the dentist today.
My heart starts thumping the minute I get anywhere near the bottom door, and from there on in,
I'm in a state of nervousness until I hear the "well no problems there then". At which point, I'm
out of the door faster than a dog after a rabbit.

I blame it all on the dentist I had as a teenager. I never felt I could complain as she was the
aunt of my best mate. One day I mentioned that I had seen her, and he asked me a bit more about
it. I told him I was a patient, and all I got was "well you're braver than I am, she's a
butcher". Could have killed him.

Thankfully I now have the most fantastic dentist! Very patient, very gentle.
Catherine however, finds my whole fear a bit irrational.
So do I if I'm being perfectly honest!

Anyway given the weather and the time we got home tonight, there was barely any light left, which
was disapointing, as I had noticed a new Stencil graffitti added to the fence over the road.
Something to do with Blair the grinning idiot. Further investigation is pending. Instead I
thought I'd take a couple of photo's of my wife. Besides she's better looking than I am. (Must be the teeth.)

Beautiful portrait! Btw, I'm still 'running' away from my dentist. I hadn't visit her since two months after my last appointment :-)

I had surgery & babies no probs, but the dentist visit every 6 month is eeeekkk... until it's all over then I think now that didn't hurt so what's the big fizz prior all about. !! Beautiful portrait of Catherine.

Lots of people with the same fears, Dominic, for the same reasons. This is a very lovely photograph. She is beautiful.

Beautiful, Dominic. Very nice lighting and a well-composed shot of a very attractive lady.
I'm with you-I had really bad childhood experiences with a dentist and will only have work done if I'm in a different reality than my body's in.

Thank GOD there is someone else like me out there when it comes to dentists! I had the worst one when I was a child - Dr. Gross (irony, thy name is dentist) He was mean and yelled. I now have to be prescribed 2 doses of valium in order to go to the dentist - one for the night before and the other for an hour before I have my appointment.

I love this portrait of your wife .. The slope of her shoulder falling to one side makes me think maybe her feet are up on the seat next to her, as she looks out the window at something in the yard. Excellent composition here and lighting, Dom

Can you take a picture of the graffiti too? The lighting here is great, smooth and warm. Lucky you to pass the dentist test, congrats.
