I saw this on my way to work and had to screeeeeech to a stop.
At first I thought someone had put a bouquet of flowers at the
base of this oak tree, then I figured out what it was.
"Omigawd. I have to take a picture of that fungus!" I said crazily to myself.

It seems as if there are a few bites out of it, and no I didn't try it,
although that could explain some things about me!
