Fungus

I saw this on my way to work and had to screeeeeech to a stop.
At first I thought someone had put a bouquet of flowers at the
base of this oak tree, then I figured out what it was.
"Omigawd. I have to take a picture of that fungus!" I said crazily to myself.

It seems as if there are a few bites out of it, and no I didn't try it,
although that could explain some things about me!

I cut down a 160 year old oak tree. Now it's growing a fungus similar to yours. Reply to my e-mail and I'll send you pictures of my fungus. It's much prettier. ID as FUNGUS.

This seems to be the start of a polyphorus, in first view it looks like Laetiporus Sulphureus. But, it can be a very young state of Meripilus Giganteus as well.
Look at this in a week or two. If it stays the same in shape and colour it is a Laetiporus. If it develops large blades like big leaves, it's a Meripilus.
Laetiporus is seen here http://www.bluewillowpages.com/mushroomexpert/laetiporus_sulphureus.html
