September 26, 2004: Over San Francisco International Airport
San Francisco Airport
I must admit I am chortling about the comments on Saturday’s image of Half Dome. It seems that no one caught the fact that my vantage point was from an airplane at about 10,000 feet altitude.
My good friend Jack Loftis and I took a tour in a Cessna 182 from Palo Alto to Yosemite, hopped up to Petaluma for lunch, and then back over San Francisco to Palo Alto.
Click NEXT once to see a view of downtown SF, and then NEXT again to restudy the aerial shot of Yosemite.
This is Jack maneuvering us over SFO at 2000 feet. That is runway 28/10 just outside, and then you can see the South Bay in the distance.
