Stark Raving Conkers *

UK

This was going to be called "Life Cycle", but I was going bonkers getting this as I wanted - hence the name.
I set this up by a window to utilise daylight, bringing out colours and casting shadows. Age of conkers also evident. - Eventually!

Phil, conkers do shrink as they age and dry out. Also, there are two conkers in that shell by the looks of things. Usually there's one, but "twins" aren't uncommon. - Jon S

I couldn't work out what was wrong here... then I realised - they are in reverse order. The conker in it's "case" should be on the left, and the broken conker on the right. Also, the because the sizes are so different, it kind of goes against the "age" thing (biggest is newest, smallest is oldest?) if you see what I mean... Phil

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in America they don't have conkers. For those people that don't know, conkers are the nut of a chesnut tree. Every Autumn/Fall children collect them, drill a hole through them and put them on a string. They then enter in to a competition where each player swings their conker in an attempt to break their opponent's. A conker is ranked by how many conkers it has defeated. A conker that has had one victory is called a one-er, one that has two victories is a two-er and so on. - Jon S

I may be thick-headed, or it just may be my brain is too tired - but I don't get the message here. There is a message, or a way to interpret this, right? --Olaf
