19-09-04 the lion

Went for a walk to the Duthie Park today,
through the rose garden, and into the winter gardens
or as they are now called the David Welch Winter Gardens

This guy, sits just outside the victorian garden in one of the network of greenhouses.
And as you've probably guessed is feeding a small pond.
But for some reason today he wasn't working. Guess it was a
day of rest for Lions too.

Very cool shot ... I like the tight crop and the splash of green coming from its mouth (Eww!) LOL

Great shot! I like the touch of color flowing from the lion's mouth.

There are also many Lion statue in Chinese culture. I'll pay more attention to it from now. Great capture! :-)

Very nice - like the texture on this shot, wonder how it would look in B&W.
Love the Angels too and looks like it was another great blue sky day in your part of the world again! (we don't get them all that often in Singapore...that's why I always notice them:))

Hi Dominic, lions are often used in statues, don't know why, guardian instinct maybe. I caught a lion today too, your PaD kinda reminded me: http://www.pbase.com/image/33995122
