Thx Vikas, Ed, Ian. While I was cleaning out the red spots I even took some of the gum from the sidewalk. Cleaning up the city in a virtual way.

Anna,
I'm not sure which image I like more but this is wonderful. Great use of pattern and color. Roberta

I am sorry Anna, but I kind of concluded _against_ aligning the upper "horizontal" line to the edge of the frame... Still very nice like this. I like that you fixed the upper right corner - this is better! Another interesting aspect of this shot, is how the hexagonal pattern around the umbrella, sort of reflects the shape of the umbrella - neat! --Olaf

OK, Olaf, here comes another version. I'm getting tired of cleaning up the chewing gum spots for each version though ;-)
I'm a little ashamed the my city is so dirty.

Anna, I like this best of the two in this gallery - no doubt about it! The leading lines to the umbrella are impeccable! However, the upper right corner bothers me a little. It may just be a) another set of white triangles starting, but it looks like b) something else. If a) then there is too little of them and if b) it's distracting, so in any case something should be done about it. What? I can think of two alternatives: 1) crop the image a bit on the right and bottom so that the line still hits the lower right corner, or 2) rotate the image 1.55 degrees CW and then crop. This will make the top horizontal line truly horizontal (and therefore parallel to the edge), but unless you have more to give from, will mean that the line from the lower right corner won't start exactly in the corner. I have tried both alternatives and prefer alternative 1 myself.

Very striking. Nice contrast between the strong B&W pattern and the umbrella. - Jon S

Rats I rubbed out your comment, Ian, sorry about that. :-( Mistake. I was trying to delete my own comment and yours disappeared too. Sorry.

Very nice! There's almost a neon glow under the umbrella...

Very nice shot Anna, love the floor pattern and the bright umbrella. Really very very nice. The geometric B&W patterns really make this shot as also does the lone figure walking across it. Only one suggestion if I may, the bits of red in the umbrella and the ground should be cloned out, my attention seems to go to those bits directly.

Cheers. Vikas.

Very nice reshoot of your exhibition entry. (*) Did you get any shots with the guy more in the upper left? -Ed Hahn
