September 17 2004:
Workshop

Dull and dreary days like today mean that any outdoor shot that I may take may find themselves being converted to monochrome. And the Army town of Aldershot is an ideal place to go on such a day – it is fairly run down and gives a bit more texture and character than others.

I walked the streets (!) and glimpsed through this window giving an interesting view of a small workshop.

Photoshop:
Cropped and Resized
Converted to Grayscale and Duotone applied (Pantone 600C)
Adjusted in Curves
Applied Diffuse Glow
Framed: using # F7F8EF

On 16 September last year; ‘Tall, Dark and…’

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/160s f/4.0 at 40.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Excellent composition.. great find.. but i love the toning. I just discovered duo-tri-quad tone and I am just playing in it.. i'd LOVE to get this effect (I wrote down the panotone 600c, but doesn't duo mean 2?)..lol

I know it's been said before but I love the softness here. Well seen and treated.

Good old time feel to this Ray and very nice in B&W (something I'm starting to become a fan of!)

Oh Ray..the glow works so well with this in combination of shadows and light. I found myself curious for closer inspection of the "stuff" a inate need for prowling.

Could be 100 years ago! You do that well, make contemporary scenes look old!
