I am honered Roberta. Bee1000 I tried it and it was too serious and I really wanted the fun caricature like feel.

Jonathan,
This is fabulous. I'd love to share this with my art students when they work on their cityscapes. Great work. Roberta

Nice interpretation of the theme. I like the image, but it's too Photoshoppy for my tastes. I think I would prefer it as a high-contrast black and white image. - bee1000

Thanks everyone. I was wondering how complex can an image be and still be essentially graphic. The need for flattened perspective is not surprising. Without the color enhancement and tight crop (there was a bit of water and docked boat at the bottom of the frame) the image is of a city foremost. To my eyes only after treatment do the shapes dominate and one's eye begins to wander over the various colors, geometric shapes, and textures. I also tried to push things further using geometric distortions (results posted athttp://www.pbase.com/yonili/image/33962959), the results while fun move the image way too far from the issue of architecture and cityscape. BTW, for those of you interested, this is taken in Boston.

This one is actually expanding my view of what constitutes a graphic photo. When I thought of the theme, I would never have thought of anything like this, but it is indeed very graphic. The flat perspective and the filled frame both help in making this graphic as does the increased saturation and heavy use of USM. The architecture is post-modern and the graphic treatment seems very fitting to this kind of architecture, sort of capturing the spirit of post-modernism - via caricature. Well done! --Olaf

Thanks, bumped saturation plus hard unsharp only.

Very nice graphic feel. Are the colors simply a result of bumped saturation and hue, or is there selective "colorizing" in the processing? -Ed Hahn
