Butterfield's Lullaby
~-~-~-~-~
Fading light dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar drawing nigh -- Falls the night
Day is done, gone the sun
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh
Thanks and praise, for our days
'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, 'neath the sky
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.

Post Note: I didn't really mean this to be about what happened three years ago today; the feeling for this came over me as I was trying to get a couple of shots in before dark. These words came to me, and yes, in the end they merged with Today. I found all sorts of scraps of lyrics (originally there were none) and settled on this combination of well-known and lesser-known ones because they expressed what I am feeling today on many levels, both obvious and obscure. I found them extremely moving as well.
