Evidence of things not seen
Day 129

This was taken a few moments before sunrise.

I could not sleep at all last night except for a short time of being half awake and half in the moody dark of a quasi-nightmare that was trying to hook its claws into me and drag me into a helpless REM state.
At last I gave up the night as a loss and got out of bed.

I love the time before sunrise, but on those rare occasions when I see one I'm much more
likely to see it on the rear end of a day than the front end.
Months ago I had printed off a schedule of the rising and setting of the moon and (purely for laughs) the rising and setting of the sun. I figured the setting part might come in handy occasionally, so it would at least be half useful.

So I found myself sleepless this morning, nearly an hour before sunrise.
What to do, what to do? Hmm hmm.
The lightbulb over my head flickered on -- it wasn't bright enough by itself by a long shot,
so I still had to turn on a real light in order to dig out the sunrise schedule.

This is a field of soybeans about a mile from my house.
I decided to drive back to the house for the tripod (duh me); fortunately I had plenty of time.

Now I can say that I, too, have a 'Sunrise' gallery!
I've got more pictures to upload there, but for now I just need some sleep!

So sorry about your nightmares and loss of sleep, but welcome to the "sunrise" club. I look forward to more now that you have experienced the dawn's early light. This is so softly beautiful and peaceful. I'd better go out right now and see if there is a possiblity of another beauty.

This is definately worth losing sleep over. By 10am were you feeling like you wanted to curl up & close your eyes !!

From the thumbnail I thought maybe you had seen the same sky that I saw last evening. Beautiful colors; stupendous composition. I'm hardly ever up at sunrise. If I am up, I never want the day to actually start...I like that "hardly daylight" time the best..alas, the sun always seems to come up or go down and ruin the whole thing.

Boy I can relate to the sleeplessness! But you turned lemons into lemonaide with this terrific picture. What a GORGEOUS sky!

What a beautiful sky this is! I love the misty look to it.. on the ground as well.
I should have gotten up too. I had vivid dreams all night, including such scenes as someone shooting themselves because I got my camera stolen.. a woman who could not get her true love to love her ... I cried in that dream.. damn.. it was a very weird night.

Perfect Carmen.
Hope this drove away the demons... there's a LOT of sleeplessness going on, wonder why?
