Aug 25th

My hand... I've always wanted to shoot my weird hand... this is the
first intentional photograph of it. Of course it's my shooting hand (R).
I lost most of the feeling in it and broke a lot of the bones. I was in a
motorcycle accident. Hit from behind by a caddy, 15 yrs ago, my hand was
the least of my injuries, I was in the hospital for a year, I broke almost everything.
I shot this using my good hand, no tripod.. it was difficult but not impossible.
I wish they made a camera for lefties, When I shoot I use my ring finger, it has the most feeling,
My index finger is toast... it can't be straightened, nerve damage, plus most of the muscles have
atrophied... but I am great, besides my hand and a lil pain here and there once in awhile...
maybe tomorrow I'll shoot my good hand for a comparison of before and after... I have
some great scars too... this could be a new project...

Wow...what a survival story! You've really bounced back from a terrible accident. From the "tone" of your story, you haven't let it hold you back from doing whatever you want -- I say fantastic! Good, strong, powerful image.

You have a great story! Your injured hand dont seems to bother you to take pictures... They are great!

Terrible accident and glad you made it. Amazing the scars and broken, twisted parts of us we end up with as we become adults.
I have a finger similar to that, actually. Embarssing story, but suffice to say... when a kid leaves a pointy-eared, hard plastic, Batman action figure on the floor .. pick it up immediately. Stepping on it, flying in the air, coming down to crack your hand on the table while slamming yourself ass-first onto the floor is not exactly ... fun.

Wow ... being a musician I find that terrifying. You seem to do just fine ... bravo!

Wow Neda! It seems we have something in common. I was hit from the rear years ago as well. I almost died. I have tons of nerve damage. For a real steady shot a tripod is imperative, as my right hand shakes when I try to hold it real still. Thanks for sharing your story...

Wow.. a whole year in the hospital -- how did you not go mad? I hope you had friends and family to give their love and support. Glad you survived.
