We see this amanita frequently during the summer and autumn months. 'Yellow Patches' emerges from a yellow universal veil that leaves remnants on the yellow to orange cap and around the bulbous base. The gills may be whitish to yellowish, as may the stipe. The partial veil initially protecting the gills leaves a ring on the stalk.
