Maybe a fill-flash would have helped? To not make it look too unnatural, I would have set it at a flash exposure compensation of -1 EV. --Olaf

Thanks Scott for the input. I found this shot very hard to expose correctly because of the late afternoon sun and his white t-shirt.

I like your other shot better. This one is too underexposed and does not have the energy like your first post.
