enchanted forest

its a pennyroots kind of day...

I don't know whether this is going to be my photo for the day or not.
I liked the way loki here was framed by the arcing tree.

I also like the fact that
it is a somewhat different sort of photo for me. What I am
realizing is that my slump is coming in part
from the fact that I am sick of looking at my photos.
Maybe that is a problem for a lot of us slumping padders...
We look at photos all day long as we check out each others' galleries
and maybe, just maybe we see a lot of the same types of photos over and over
and we are getting burnt out? I think that might be what it is for me so I am going to
try to challenge myself to shoot outside of my comfort zone whenever I have
time and opportunity. Loki here isn't entirely outside of that zone, but it's a start.

By the way, have you heard? Only 16 days to go...

Very pretty shot. It has a fairy-tale quality to it that at first glance I was half convinced there was a unicorn horn on the horse's head. :)
I'm also partial to the name Loki .. since my dog shares that name.

It is a lovely shot , beautifully framed by the tree . I know exactly how you feel , I've been struggling just lately and have missed a few days partly because I haven't had the time and also from lack of inspiration . I go through phases when everything comes quite easily and I know what kind of photo I'm going to do and then I have no inspiration at all and I'm not happy with anything I take , I also haven't had the time to comment on peoples photos and then I feel guilty because everyone is so kind to comment on mine .Oh well , don't give up , I think we all go through the same thing , Kind regards Penny .

good title - it does have that sort of feel. I keep expecting to see "Red Riding Hood" or a handsome prince!

16 days to go before what? I like the tunnel effect of the foliage and the tree and the light and dark contrast; perfect title.

I never heard of a Loki, before. This comp. does have a rather enchanted forest feel to it, and the tree does make a nice natural frame.

I was recently thinking about composition burnout recently, too. There is a definite risk of photo overload by doing PaD. Sometimes I'll take, or will see, a perfectly nice standard shot, and think, "Eh, been done a million times." So then the impetus becomes to take the shot in a new and original way, if only to be different. I guess that could be a good thing, but it has it's pitfall in that we've lost some of our objectivity.

Ok, I ramble... But you make a good point here!

What happens in 16 days???

I think you may have hit on something!

Really like the framing, too; nice pastoral scene.

Liza, the photo is wonderful, but I know just what you mean. I almost did not post today because I did not like anything I had...but please don't stop.

You scored big with me on this one Liza (except for that chunk of concrete in the background by the table). Yes Penny would cheer this one as I am.
I'd stay and say more, but I've got to get back to my new check forging business ;-)

Nice shot. I would not have been surprised to see a unicorn in this magical setting.
