Aug 2: Looking

Looking for inspiration. But there was none to be seen.

When I did my recent 'dark / natural light / tour of the house' series, I deliberately avoided including the window. I wanted the window to be implied by the light itself. Today, I felt the need to include the window in the shot. I wanted less darkness. This is exactly the same place as the first in that series (CLICK HERE) but a different viewpoint and, (duh) I'm standing up.

I framed the shot for the geometry of the window, but if I were to do the shot again, I'd lower the camera position slightly to include my right hand. But this was taken at dusk, so no chance of a re-shoot now!

Nice mood, looks like you're staying inside to hide from the summer's heat.

I think this is well done and I'm appreciating your "light" series. The part that I'd like to hear about, is how did you manage to keep the light from the window from being "blown out."

that would be "doesn't" not doesn't ... sheesh

While i like most of it and do agree about the lower and positioned to include the other hand, I'm not sure about the lighting on the face. I like how it illuminates everything else, though. Just a little too blown out because I cannot see your expression.. or even a nuance of it. Just my opinion.. doens't mean squat..lol

I agree about including your hand if you were to reshoot it. But the light on your face is good, and you managed to convey emotion with this one...Looking....for a photo?? It's a nice one, DM!

I think you should brush your hair next time..... And DM without inspiration still produces great pictures!

I think it's cool given how uninspired you were!
