I had the same thought too, but due to lack of light and no tripod thought i'd give this a try. I think I then took another with the wall in focus too and considered joining the two together, but this to be honest doesn't suit my style. I'm not averse to a bit of sharpening and cropping etc, but major photo surgery is something i will have to get used to considering. My reasoning is that if you can't get it legitimately in one go, then its not a 'proper' photo! But digital changes all that, and thats what I have to get used to thinking.
I too was playing with a similar notion of Earth as a rock and its moon as one (the 3rd rock and its moon). I didn't find an effective way to pull it of. I agree with Olaf that the foreground too should be sharp if you are seeking to draw the parallel between the two.

The blurry foreground doesn't work for me. It puts emphasis on the moon - yes - but having the moon and the "stones" so close to each other really make me see this composition as more of an interaction between the two - and therefore they should both be sharp... --Olaf
