I'm the first entry! :D

I've had this piece of sandstone for quite a while and I was going to photograph it alone for the challenge. But as I was trying to setup the shoot, I saw the gold bracelet my 12 year old chihuahua used to wear as a necklace (she passed away this March), and decided to make...glamour rock. :)

What I intended to create: a comical image of a rock wearing a necklace, with an exaggerated shadow, gradient background, focus on the 2 o'clock portion of the "necklace," shallow depth of field, and over saturated colors. Sadly, I don't have a calibrated monitor, so I don't know how similar it will look on yours... I'm pleased to say though, that I was able to achieve *exactly* the look I wanted.

The only PS work was USM, saturation, and the black border around the image.

The gradient is very obvious when viewed against a white background.

Equipment used: Canon 10D, 50mm f/1.4 @ 2.0, and 2 550EX flash units.
