England 3-0 Switzerland

I had to make a desperate trip into town late this afternoon to pick up some much needed reading material. Several of my fave monthly photo mags came out today, so now I'm all set for a month's worth of reading, tutorials and inspiration... haaaa bliss, if the finger's not on the shutter I do like to sit down to a good read!!

The town was almost deserted as we dashed into W H Smiths at 5.10pm, unbelievable as this is the height of the rush hour. Well not quite so. The local radio had reported the rush hour had started much earlier than usual as people were making their way home to watch the England game that kicked off at 5.00pm.

We picked up some Spanish meatballs from M&S and headed off for the car passing several pubs on the way. I was tempted to stop to see the match but with dinner in the bag and desperate for a read we just called in for a quick look at the score. Unbelievable timing as we had just nipped in The Castlegate when the pub erupted as Wayne Rooney scored for England!

We watched the rest of the match at home, eating meat balls and drinking several very cold beers... yep I remembered to fill the fridge this morning... now where's my mags!!

Almost forgot the PotD! Yep, you guessed... an England shirt!!

A very nice image Ian.
There is a lot of red in this.
It looks to me more like the Swiss flag with the cross of St George added on top.
This would be a good excuse for celebrating who ever wins!! Cheers!!

Like the textures of the open weave, and am happy for 'your' victory.

I don't know haw far the Brits will go in this championship. Hope they will go further then in the world cup. Anyway, the only Brit that ever won a world cup was ..... a referee.
