High Tension by Slartibartfast

An image I took whilst searching for that elusive 'selective colour' challenge.

g'day Slartibartfast - a really dramatic pic, with a very well chosen title. i think i agree with you on having the pylon central, as it needs to compete with the high contrast sky - all give the effect of 'high tension'. thanks

Love the sky in this shot. I seem to be drawn to your photos in each challenge- continue the great work.

Thanks for the comments Roy. I spent ages agonising about the best presentation of this image last night. I toyed with black and white vs colour; with landscape crops that excluded the trees and placed the pylon on the left or right; portrait crops with the pylon on the left and the right; and even a square crop, but I couldn't decide which bit of sky I liked best. In the end I left it as shown. Any other thoughts anyone? At the time I took it I also took about three shots which were framed with the pylon on the right-hand third of the image, but this shot ended up being the one with the best sky. SB

Hi Slartinartfast,

Lovely picture, the clouds really jump out! I think it would've even been better if the position of the pylon would have been a bit more to the right. Good work!
