Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

Today was a very busy day and I didn’t really have a lot of time to shoot. Work had me hoping and then I had to help Cat get ready for her trip to Europe wit her mother.

Anyway, I did take one short break to go for a stroll near the Library. I could hear a bunch of birds carryingon in the trees across the street and figured the hawk I keep shooting was over there. Sure enough, it was. I didn’t have a lot of time to do my usual, plant myself and wait for something to happen so I got only this so-so shot.

One thing to note about this, I’ve stood watching hawks so long now I understand their behavior. When this guy began to lean forward I knew to get the heck out from under him. I had just moved when a large amount of hawk poo hit where I was standing.

Part of me thinks I should have shot that action…LOL

Although being often myself studying nature photos, many of birds, as a future owner of a Canon 100-400mm L IS USM, have to admit I have never seen such an extraordinary composition. By sure this is the first time I see such a powerful bird seen from underneath. Congratulations on this wonderful shot, Ron !
