05-21-2004

This is my last picture of my Picture a Day for a Year. This is looking off the Hermosa Beach Pier.

So, now it's over. I'm done. I've done a full year of taking a picture every day of the year with each picture having been taken during the 24 hour period from 12:00:00 AM to 11:59:59 PM for that day. I started on May 22nd, 2003 (My birthday), and finished on May 21st, 2004.

I AM actually going to do ONE more picture and include May 22nd. :) But I AM already done with the year. I'll just make it A Year and a Day!

Tomorrow (May 22nd) I'll be shooting some models, and celebrating my birthday, then it's for sure over. That fills me with a bit of a melancholy feeling, but I've finished the project I designed, and there's no reason to go on now. THANKS EVERYONE for all your support!

With respect and appreciation,

Paul W. Walters

Congratulations Paul! Happy Birthday and I don't blame you one bit for wanting to move on. New projects beckon, I'm sure! Good job, your pictures are all great (even if I didn't always leave a comment trail), and this is a very nice sendoff. All the best to you!

Awesome Paul. Glad I stopped in today. I hope to start my PaD back up later on. Just too busy to do it justice. Your work has always been excellent.

I do not agree with those who look at this a sad moment. This is and end of an assignment well accomplished, and a moment to celebrate a task well done.
Congratulations PW !
PS: Sure, I'm gonna miss you daily postings as many, many others :-)

This is very sad, Paul... I got all choked up reading your caption.... It's like the last day of school or something and we aren't going to see our friends anymore... Your pictures and all the friends who come and comment on them are going to be a missing link in my life.. Thankyou again for what you DID share with us.. You're great! Love the bird! :)

A fantastic way to end the year. Kind of like the sun setting on your project. Very symbolic, and of course, very beautiful.

An excellent a very poignant photo for your very own sunset. But I live in hope that this actually a sunrise....
Glad I found your gallery last summer; it started me of on this journey where I have met so many friends.
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A perfect image to conclude the year with.

Congratulations Paul, you did it! 366 excellent photos (not to mention the 100s of extras), and an awesome montage.
Thank you so much for sharing this year with us. I hope you'll continue to share your talent with us in the future... even if it isn't daily :)

Ps. I'll be interested to know whether or not you wake up in a cold "I-didn't-take-a-picture-yet" sweat the night of May 23rd ;)

Dude you are incredible! Thanks for pushing the bar higher each month with your photos! Hey here's an idea, why dont you do it for another year?
Guest 22-May-2004 05:32
This is a very sad moment. You are the reason I am doing mine and the reason so many others are doing theirs. You did it and you did it WELL!! You will always be the KING of PaD to me! I say to you one last time DUDE...NICE! :-)
