Corte Brugnatella

The Catholich church has always had a knack to find awe inspiring places to put their churches. Along Val Trebbia there are several churches perched on the top of steep cliffs, but none can compete with the church of Brugnello. This is in the most spectacular part of the valley, where the river is deep down in the valey and the vegatation is the most impenetrable. I used to come in this part of the valley very often in my youth. Spending the weekend up here with friends, swimming in the river, fishing and collecting mushroms where all favorites activities. In later years the winding road was a magnet for my motorbike rides

Il paese non si chiama Corte Brugnatella ma Brugnello.
Non esiste un paese denominato Corte Brugnatella, il nome indica solamente il territorio nel quale si trova anche Brugnello.
Complimenti per la fotografia, è bellissima.

Hi Phil,

It is a very spectacular location. The curch is so high up that it almost gives you vertigo to just look from the side of the narrow road.

And what spectacular scale incongruity this image brings us, as it soars from corner to corner into the sky!
