Mary Anne,

I was *this* close to buying the Drebel. I was able to use it at the store. After using it I came to the conclusion that our G3 is a quite capable little camera. And it takes great pics at low isos. The only thing I found that I'd really like to have is the lightning fast autofocus on the rebel. (At least it seems so compared to the G3).

Great shot, Ann. I can practically feel the fluff...and the reflection makes the picture extra special. You know, as I've been participating in these challenges for a few months, I'm really beginning to see the difference between the G series and the DSLRs, which provide a clarity and a subtlety of tone that are pretty incredible. I don't want to minimize what my little G3 can do, but I know it could never give something as finely tuned as this. (Not to minimize the great eye you have!)
