This picture of a Hawaiian green turtle (honu) was taken at the Wainanali'i ponds by the magical
Kiholo Bay on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. The ponds are connected to the sea by a narrow
inlet, allowing turtles to rest in their shallow waters. The graceful gliding of this turtle in the pristine
fresh water contrasts exquisitely with the brightly lit sandy bottom.
