Heirloom

What is it? The menorah my family used for many years on and off during Hanukkah - a menorah from Israel that my father's parents brought for him. Tonight, I wanted to experiment some more with lighting (using the new DRebel), and I thought I'd use something many believe to be a symbol of the miracle of light.

So here's to Papa. It's still beautiful. Will always be.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel

Beautiful image of a beautiful objet d'art. Your Dad must be proud!

How exciting! I'm so glad everyone appreciated this shot. I'm not a big collector of pieces of art for my home (being that we have too many kiddies around) - so the few we do have, they're loaded with meaning and purpose.

Jypsee, I used candles for lighting, as well as a heavy-duty flashlight (of which I used only the softer light that surrounds the harsh center light). Does that make sense?
