Thanks for your kind comments:-) - lol - the date... that was turned off soon after.. That was as a result of film when you could never remember when the pictures were taken - so I thought in my infinite wisdom that imprinting the date would help with this new camera (not knowing about exif data and the like back then:-)

If you can take shots like this with an old 1MP kodak then I am looking forward to seeing what you will achieve with an Ax at your disposal! I like the framing, different colours and textures in this shot - next time I wouldn't imprint the date on it though. :)

Welcome to MTF Challenge,

(our Canadian contingent is getting bigger by the day )

I like the shot, and in particular the title you picked, expecially in conjunction with your story. I did not noticed the meter initially... but that is alittle gem.

I am new to the Minolta User's Forum - I don't even have a Minolta Camera (YET) - until I purchase my A1 or A2 in the coming week or 2... I have not posted on the forum yet either but have been actively lurking for weeks!

Anyway - the Minolta Challenge is, IMHO, a super super idea... it makes you think of endless possibilities to go out and have fun with your Camera - and I said to myself - gosh I cannot wait till I can make some submissions etc... Well along came Challenge #6 - tracks... and I instantly thought of this photo I took in '99 and just had to submit it to the Exhibition...

This photo was taken on an old 1 mp Kodak DC200 - and it's only 640 x 480... and to be truthful - it's not a good shot - but I do love it... it's an old railway box car that is sitting on a quiet harbour dock, in a small outport community, where there are no railway tracks. (to be honest the name of the community even eludes me now) - The car has seen a long life and many alternative uses rather than life on the rails. As you can see on the side it has an empty meter socket - Someone had it wired for electricity... I think of the life the railway car had lived and how it is now "cast aside" etc...

Oh well - there is my contribution:-)
