another procedure I follow that is contrary to general practice is that I do not install and torque a head with the camshaft installed. I am torqueing down the head, not the camshaft. I want the cylinder head to be relaxed as I torque it down. I do not want the stresses of a piece of rigid iron that is torqued down in its own right to affect the settling in of the head onto the engine block.
And yes, I use new TAT headbolts on a turbo motor. TAT headbolts can be reused; but for a boosted motor I believe that to be a false economy.
