Me again. I used to lived a block up on 65th Street. It was the building with 27 floors. A few years later a taller building was built next to it blocking my view of the Hudson River. I wish I could see it at least one more time.

A minor correction: At least from 1947/48 through 1965, the basketball court in the playground ran along the fence that separated the projects from the Phipps Houses; it was perpendicular to the street. It's a great diagram.
Phil, funny but I also thought of Mike the second I saw Kathleen's drawing, yes it brings back memories, Julio

Hi Julio!!!! OMIGOD, I forgot about the dead end street at 63rd st. That's where Mike the ice cream man use to sell his stuff! A lot of kids use to play stick ball at the dead end street. When we all got older and were fortunate to get our own car, that street was primo parking for the car.
The traffic on that street was very light and the cars would travel very slow. I remember one time one of the kids I use to hang out with would hit a slow moving car at the driver's blind side and yell out" I'VE BEEN HIT!!! I'VE BEEN HIT" and fall down on the ground. The driver would stop his car and would get out to see what happened. The kid then would get up at the last second and run like hell from the scene. Hehehe you can bet the driver got really ticked off at all of us! Just wanted to share a little walk down memory lane with you.. And no.. I can't remember the kid's name... we were about 11 or 12 at the time... ... I think..... See you all---Phil Rivera
