"My Life"

It's the end of Sunday and I have found myself pictureless. So I quickly glanced around the living room, and through the door caught our "library." I snapped my favorite shelves, the ones with James Joyce, William Faulkner, and a variety of others. Ahhh...when it comes down to it, I'd rather be reading.

What is it? My heart.

lol, Jeanne! Some time ago, I came across what I thought was an interesting journal suggestion to describe the books on your bookshelf. I thought it might be equally as interesting to take a picture of mine instead! Jypsee did hers, most lovely:http://www.pbase.com/image/27672554

It could be a theme!

On your own books...I love everything by John Irving. I adore the way he writes and no movie comes anywhere close to the quality of his stories. He takes the reader to places that movies simply cannot go. His world is too real, too rich, too tied to the written word. Ahh...just love his stuff.

The Metamorphosis...this one fascinates me. I wrote a little story once that referred to Kafka's cockroach.

Ludlum...David's books. LOL!

100 Years of Solitude - I'm certain it's better in Spanish...but I adored it in English. A fantasy, a romance, literary wildness.

So much to read...so little time! Thanks for peeking in here, Jeanne, Sue, and Lara.

WOWW!!I opened this in original to get a better look!! OK!! This is what we have in common.

Ludlum? NOPE!! I worked in a library for YEARS and loved to put his books away, as they were ENORMOUS....Never read one though!

Kafka? Metamorphosis! On my list

Songs in Ordinary Times? LOVED IT

The Red TEnt!! OMG, VERY COOL BOOK!!!

Cider House Rules, WAY better than the movie, wasn't it?

And 100 years of solitude? I had to read it in SPANISH when I lived in Spain.....Should probably re-read it in English!!

LOVE this shot, gives insight into YOU!!! I will have to make one of these soon! Thanks for this, though I spent a long time looking!!!

So much of my childhood was spent reading.. We grew up without a television. Instead, we went to the library, and spent evenings reading. I still try to read at least one book a week. It's normally some sort of romance novel, or thriller. Mostly junk reading, but it's reading for escape.

Nice "seeing" your bookshelf.

Faulkner, doesn't he have a chapter in one of his book that is, like, one sentence long? Or so I hear.

jypsee: I love Toni Morrison! It sounds like we have similar taste in books. :)

Pete (now that I know your name...lol!): you're so sweet - thank you. :)

..hey; I LOVE Faulkner. No Hemingway for me. Give me deep description, layers of meaning, and down home style. You like Toni Morrison?
