Stuttering frog, Mixophyes balbus

Watagan area, NSW Australia

There are sadly many endangered frogs in Australia, many having recently fallen victim to an introduced fungal infection.
One species facing the threat of extinction is the Stuttering fr.. fr.. frog. This species gets it's common name from the stuttering
call produced by the male in the hope of wooing a female (perhaps a speech therapist)? They live in forested gullies in the
temperate areas of eastern Australia, but populations are declining very rapidly.
