The best of Television

We have two new sets of DVDs.

Nicholas Nickleby I gave to Adrienne for Christmas.
It is the early 1980s nine hour version that was produced by the RSC at the Aldwych Theatre in London. It was then filmed at the Old Vic for the opening of Channel 4, before being taken to Broadway.
It is a most wonderful production with 39 actors playing the 150 roles. I can thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

The first twenty episodes of the comedy Cheers. I am sure most of you will know of this beautifully written and performed series. It was at it’s very best until the untimely death of Nicholas Colasanto who played Coach. These were also shown by Channel 4 when it started. Many hours of pure genius.

I love NORM……………..Not being a frequent bar drinker, I once primed a barman who got the customers to call out CHRIS when I entered with Adrienne. She nearly went into hysterics.

You're hilarious, Chris. Nice frame. Straight-up, crystal clear product shot.

Yeah, how funny!! I confess that I am a bit young to remember Cheers when it originally came out (although I find the repeats very funny!), but I do remember channel 4 starting out. I remember Brookside and Countdown being the first few shows to be aired. Were we as a nation easily pleased back in 1982??!!

What a devious mind you have (and FUNNY!) I would have fallen out! Just the idea of it made me laff out loud. The other thing that caught my attn about your PaD today . . .Cheers & The Royal Shakespeare Company - not the most likely combination! LOL!
