LIFESAVER

A few years ago I took a basic B&W Photog Class thru the local community college
(LUV community colleges for these kinds of classes!!)
I did a picture similar to this for the "texture" assignment
The co-worker I used for this was so entralled with the end result,
she hung it framed on her wall at work
(it gets a lot of conversations going cuz it's an 8x10 tongue & lifesaver!)

Well she wanted one for her daughter (go figure)

so we did it again at work & I figured what the heck

So here you are . . . What The Heck

1/400s f/2.8 at 7.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I love this!

Great picture! Nice contrast between the tongue and the life saver, they seem very incompatible at that stage, don't they?

Very cool idea and well done :)

How much fun is this? Very creative and interesting! I may try one like this, if I can get someone to pose for me! LOL

I love this!
That wall should have a much larger print than 8x10 though, and I prefer this shot because of lighting.

Great photo. As said earlier in the UK these are Polo mints. I've always wondered what happens to the bit of mint they punch out inthe centre. Must be a market for mini mints.
Obviously I have nothing better to think about.

very clever idea...nicely done.

ewwwwwwwww.... this just has "cavities" written all over it. I'm with Lara... its freaking me out a bit. Nice lighting though. - liza

Nice. Wonderfully shaded.
Robin: yes, it's true.
Guest 28-Feb-2004 02:59
That's a cool idea! And a cool pic... I remember seeing it on the wall before.

Jill & Jeanne . .you shold see what I have on my ceiling! Nobody counts holes in the tiles in MY chair . . . .*evil little grin*

(actually that's false advertising . . I have neat things on my ceiling ^_~)

Robin, that sounds like a good one for another PaD . . . I'll get my highly professional K-Mart desk lamp setup ready

Thank you, hei an, for noticing & commenting

haha, a funny idea and nice catch.

Very cool pic!
I've always wondered, is it true that if you bite into a peppermint lifesaver in the dark, sparks fly out of your mouth?
Guest 27-Feb-2004 23:41
Love it! As always, something to smile at in your PoTD!!!
Jill27-Feb-2004 23:04
LOL I can imagine going to my dentist..already the anxiety..settling in, leaning back and this in front of me..would not need laughing gas!!!
virginiacoastline27-Feb-2004 22:38
THANKS MARK!!! I DID IT (he sent me an idiot msg about html)
=D

Yes, Chris, I believe they are . . a UK friend of mine from a few yrs back indicated as much . .I'm assuming he was right, but you know the old saying about assuming . . . .

Great Image.

In the UK we have "Polos the mint with a hole" are "life savers" the same sort of sweet?
Guest 27-Feb-2004 22:16
What a great idea and nicely shot.
Lara S27-Feb-2004 22:13
For some reason. this is FREAKING ME OUT!
brother_mark27-Feb-2004 22:05
I would never have thought of this! Very funny.
Guest 27-Feb-2004 22:02
This is great, was this taken in one of those dentist chairs where the light moves around, and the dentist moves it away from your mouth so he can get a closer look, but the light ends up in your eyes, and you can't see nor talk due to a dentist HAND in your mouth. Yep - I think it is, and no I DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH IT, I AM NOT BITTER!!! LOL
Jeff Gegner27-Feb-2004 22:02
This is so odd--the show we are doing has the line in it "Would you like a mint?"
virginiacoastline27-Feb-2004 21:45
BTW, It has been framed since I took the OTHER picture . . sheesh
virginiacoastline27-Feb-2004 21:44
I tried to put a link to a picture of the office with that pic in it, but it didn't work. I'm HTML challenged.
I haven't been issued a handicap parking sign for this disability yet, but I'm working on it
Guest 27-Feb-2004 21:40
Why does that look like the lighting in a dental chair to me? I think a big tongue on the wall's a pretty neat idea. Gets a lifesaver vote.
Guest 27-Feb-2004 21:38
Great idea for a shot! I can imagine walking by and seeing this on a wall at 8x10 and having to do a double take for sure! Like the lighting :)
