An Eye for an Eye... * 1st Place

a Tooth for a Tooth.

The code of Hammurabi, who was the sixth king of the Amorite Dynasty of Old Babylon.
This maxim also appears in the bible; Matthew 5:38 - "Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth"

This shot was taken with a tripod, bounced flash, a remote, and a steady hand. Luckily I still have an intact eye!

Great shot. Makes my eyes water just looking at it.

Thanks for the comments guys. The photo is not a composite, but the knife is not in front of my eye either. It is resting on the side of my nose, and there is simply enough depth of field that you cannot tell from the focus that the knife is in a different plane than the center of my eye.

Wow! What more can I say that hasn't already been said. Reminds me of The Borg's assimilation technique from Star Trek.

This is actually TOO frightening! It's incredibly powerful but so disturbing I really don't even want to look at it. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? LOL!

Made me cringe. I've done a lot of things in the name of, err, art. But none as daft as this. There's no way an instrument like this is coming close to my photographers eye - except by way of composite. This pic is probably the one in the gallery that has had the most effect on me. Top marks.

Scary! Very strong visual context. Once again an excellent B&W.

This is an incredible photo! Very apt on the proverb.

Yikes! When I saw what this really was it made me almost jump. Very well done. Fits the saying to a T. Ann
