Sliding Door for James

Today I went over to Lidlington in Bedfordshire to help my son make a sliding door.
Peter and Helen have a small cottage with the staircase going up from the kitchen.
James, who is now 14 months, is easily disturbed from his sleep, so we thought a door
at the foot of the stairs would help keep the noise levels down.

It was good fun working together making the door and we were pleased with the quality and silent
operation of the track.

Chris - this is a great example of a simple subject yielding a very nice photo. The lighting is what really drew me to this picture - it's so soft - and it plays beautifully on the wooden planks and the shiny saw blade. Nicely captured, Chris.

Me again, just looked again and realized it wasn't black and white...hmmm. Never mind, then.

Beautiful wood-working project! The 'Z' pattern makes an interesting design.

That's a great door. Looks solid and sturdy. The black and white works very well here. Nice job

Glad today was more positive - and that you could make a picture of your proud achievement. I'm sure it will do the job very well. Sadly, I shy away from DIY. I could tell you a few stories from my school woodwork classes... ~~~Ray.
