Stress (*)

I just lost 256 MB of photos on a corrupt CF card. Stressed, disappointed and angry. Not the prettiest self portrait, but I hope it conveys the emotion of the moment.

I must say that you look rather calm for just losing 256Mb's worth of images! Maybe I see the serenity that takes over once you realize there is nothing you can do.

It is truly a wonderful shot. I love the use of B&W.

Full marks for being brave and showing yourself Gayle. Picture works well - conveys emotion without having the story behind it. Black and white is a good choice, and not using flash means that you didn't have to worry so much about the irritating glare you often get in glasses. Noise works for me too.

Definitely this one will be in the top 10 of this challenge.
Very nice capture.

An excellent shot Gayle. And i like the way you have used the grain / noise in it to add to the effect. Well done!

This was a "spur of the moment" photo. I was sitting at my desk, testing another CF card and decided to take photos of myself (never done that before!) Camera on tripod, aimed in my general direction, 10 second timer, no flash. Lighting from my desk lamp which was positioned just behind the camera and angled down.

You've definitely captured the emotion. I like the grain in it too. What lighting did you use?

The B&W adds to the frustration you want to convey!
