Pride in the family (*)

Traralgon Australia

This very trusting mother duck brought her babies ashore to show them off. She allowed me to get quite close to photograph them and positively basked in the glow of new motherhood. These are wild ducks at the local wetlands and I had a delightful time with them.

We've had heaps of rain lately and all the grass, weeds etc are bright green! And I have found that photographing near water (with the water in the pic) makes the colours more vibrant for some reason. Ducks are easy....use bread! Their basic greed takes over from their shyness.

A great clear and sharp duck picture. I've tried to photograph ducks, but they never stay still long enough for me. The colours look a bit intense, especially the greens, but our grass around here at the moment is the same intense green

Very good shot, the expression of the mother duck is excellent.

Also I'm amazed of the general quality of the image (colors/sharpness) for a A70 camera, it looks just like a 10D shot. :)
