This is the point where the wild Missouri River ends and the rip-rapped river really begins its' controlled exit to the Mississippi River above St. Louis. Navigation ends below this point in Sioux City, IA, but boating is a pleasure upstream from here, requiring some experience in avoiding the ever present shifting channels, sand bars and snags.
