Scientific name: Trigonoceps occipitalis (Burchell, 1824).
The White-headed Vulture is found in the drier parts of Africa from Senegal in the west to Sudan and Eritrea in the north, and south to the Orange River. It does not uccur in Arabia. It's main habitat is desert,
open plains and thornbush.
The White-Headed Vulture feeds almost exclusively on carrion. It has, however, been known to kill flamingos in breeding colonies, and probably also kills lizards and some small mammals.
