Mars one week before its closest aproach to Earth. Through
Zeiss 1200/150mm APO refractor with ScopeTronix 40mm MaxVue
eyepiece. Afocal with T-adapter coupling. Sensitivity
equivalent: 100 ASA. Composite picture of 22 slightly
underexposed frames. The reason for this is the wobbling
picture of Mars after passing through the dynamic atmosphere
at a low elevation angle. By using very short exposure times
blur of the picture can be minimized. Before stacking the
pictures I enlarged the size to 200%. The program RegiStax2
auto-aligns the unsteady position of Mars in the stack of pictures.
The under-exposed pictures are added and blended
into an acceptable result. Astro
