The centuries-old Ratsmühle mill complex is now home to the Hotel Ratsmühle Lüneburg.
Directly below and next to the building are the rapids and sluices of the Ilmenau River, which formerly powered the water wheels.
The Ratswasserkunst is the historic, square tower from 1572 that borders directly on the water and the mill.
