A very pretty bush that we will keep.
BUT it was another unauthorized substitution that the landscaper figured we'd never notice. This is just another way the landscape company - that we hired in 2024 - has again taken advantage of us,,, Even after someone independently in the same company ID'ed the planted spruce as a Globe, they still absolutely refuse to replace what they planted with what we paid for & what was on the invoice.
***************
Montgomery Spruce is more expensive and harder to source. Montgomery is usually 40–70% more expensive than a Glob Blue Spruce at the wholesale level.
Montgomery (Picea pungens ‘Montgomery*):
costs more at wholesale
takes longer to grow into a salable shape
requires more pruning early on to establish a leader
is less commonly stocked in big batches
Globosa (Picea pungens ‘Globosa*):
is cheaper
grows faster
is widely available
is easy for nurseries to mass produce
