One of three new trees we bought today. Until we can settle out the mess of changing landscapers, the nursey will be holding the trees for us.
Yes, after 2 years of landscaper incompetence and my having to do most od the design work for professionals we hired, we are finally changing companies. The installers of the plants with the old company were excellent. Unfortunately, it was the rest of the staff with delays, failure to design, substitutions without permission, and a failure to honor warranties for dead and dying plants to finally cause us to end that relationship.
A complete landscape finish was promised by them no later than October 15, 2024. However, in April 2026, we have two partially finished beds, dead plants, missing plants that have been paid for, plants that we have no idea of what they may be, and various ignored requests. And not a single plant for the basic foundation area yet.
We have done much of our own plant sourcing, which was supposed to be the landscape company paid for responsibility. Finally, we now have two DIY projects currently going. After 2 years, with the company we hired continuing to ignore us, we decided that enough is enough. They were hired in the spring of 2024.
This company was supposed to source and plant the trees we bought today. However, they made absolutely no move. According to them, "the trees are not available." Nevertheless, I made one phone call the next day and was able to instantly put the same 3 trees on hold at a local nursey. Two days later, we picked out our individual trees and now own them. Either the nursey will plant them for us, or else we will be working with a new landscaping company to do the job. I'll know more next week after we interview the new company. Meanwhile I safely have the trees that I want. They just now need to be delivered.
