Of course we don’t know their previous driving history which could be substantial and they were on their last chance with the courts. Or could be the judge was in a bad mood and everyone in his courtroom got nailed that day. Paul

Yikes !!. Tough penalty. I am routinely above a speed limit, except in crowded residential areas.
But I would guess a lot depended on the surroundings for these two. A 30 mph zone sounds like in a city. 40 mph zone sounds more suburban .

There were two stories that caught my attention today...both with license suspensions!

The 35-year-old British actress and activist was clocked driving her blue Audi at 38 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone in Oxford, England, on the evening of July 31 last year.

She did not appear for the brief hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where she was fined £1,044 ($1,400) and disqualified from driving, according to PA Media.

&

Shortly after Watson’s case was heard, the court considered a separate speeding offense involving her former “Harry Potter” co-star, Zoë Wanamaker.

The celebrated stage actress, who played Quidditch referee Madam Hooch in the franchise’s first film, received the same sentence as Watson after she was caught driving at 46 mph in a 40 mph zone in Berkshire, southeast England in August last year, PA reported.

According to the news agency, both actresses had nine penalty points on their licenses before the speeding incidents occurred.

Yikes this is not speeding to me at all...scary (of course, reminds me of my detention in northern Spain for driving....briefly....in the wrong lane in a traffic circle.

I was thinking more like the Sammy Hagar song and video “l Can’t Drive 55”. I had to pull it up on YouTube and rewatch it. Made me laugh! Paul

Maybe. The Seattle Mariners were staying at the hotel in front of which it was parked. A Lamborghini was also street parked nearby, so maybe just typical for that Detroit suburb? (My Fiat Spider probably isn't worthy) It was left out in the rain. I hope someone took care of any water spots remaining.

Paul, are you thinking about the Richard Pryor character in Superman III?

That car looks like it belongs to an overpaid sports figure, maybe a rock star. Or did Dave develop a new process to enhance corporate workflow saving the company millions per quarter and got this as a nice bonus. Paul

Varoooooom! Is this an Alien ship that stopped in for a snack before going back to flying through the universe? Traveller

A beauty. We know it is wintertime "up north" when these cars show up in Tucson. Then they are shipped back to the north for summer time.
