I finally found the sundial and base I want for the island mound bed. I hope it gets here in time for the landscapers to install the sundial while they're doing the plants around it.

The downside is that the Trump tariffs have doubled the price of this item, and we're paying a premium on what was already a fairly expensive purchase. It is also becoming a discontinued item in favor of smaller, less expensive designs. Guess brass is up in price these days besides cooper. Glad I found it, and I hope the supplier really has it in stock as their Webpage claims. Other places are sold out, including the manufacturer.

PS The store that we placed the order with is now out of stock. It sold the last one on Friday, but that sale didn't get updated in inventory until this morning. The store owner now doesn't know when or if they will get any more of these sundials. They currently have a back order from India that is being held at Customs. However, with Trump's tariffs fluctuating from day to day, the company is concerning sure they may not be able to get it. They are even concerns if their small business can survive dramatic price hikes that will be a result of large tariffs. So, we'll have to wait to see what happens next.

Another Update: Due to Trump's tariffs, the manufacturing company is moving their production center out of India and to another country (not the USA). Hopefully, new stock will be available by the end of 2025. No guarantees. Maybe the company will no longer be selling sundials in the USA. That is another possibility. Although an American based company, they now market their products to many other countries, too. Many products are made in the USA; some are not. They have said that they absolutely will NOT be returning to manufacturing these sundials in the USA where productions will be too costly... They've sold different versions of this sundial in the US since the early 1960's. Unfortunately, we may now be at the end of an era. We live in a different world these days.

I may have to try to find an alternative sundial that I don't like as much.
