After just about all the roots on this little plant rotted, I cut them off, replanted it in moist sphagnum moss and waited for new roots to grow. It's been about two years since it's bloomed and FINALLY one of the buds opened today.
The plant behind it is a rex begonia from the Western North Carolina Arboretum.
(That's not a potato in the pot. It's a small rock placed there to weight down the plant so it doesn't fall out of the pot.)
