This 30 ft sculpture of an eyeball is the work of artist Tony Tasset. Originally on display in Chicago, it was purchased by Tim Headington, owner of the Joule Hotel in 2013.
It sits in a private grassy garden area across the street from the hotel. The venue can be rented for special events.
The day I arrived, I walked over to check it out, only to see a lot of activity going on behind the fence, so I asked the doorman at the Joule Hotel what was going on. He said it was preparations for a special event that weekend.
I walked along the side fence until I came to a gate where I was able to get this shot. Had I waited one day later, I wouldn't have been able to photograph it due to all the equipment they were bringing in.
As it was, there was already plywood on the grass in front of it, but enough grass was showing that I was able to duplicate it to cover the plywood.
