Memory from this day:
Being just 9 weeks old, the Puppy obviously doesn't have a lot of bath experience. Rather than stand her in the sink and use the spray hose, I held on tight and put her directly under the faucet. Her immediate response shocked me. She tilted her little head straight up to see what was getting her wet. As a result, the running water hit her full blast directly in the face. I don't know who was more shocked, me or her. Luckily, she must have been breathing out at the time because getting a face full of water didn't leave her sputtering. This is one laid back puppy. Although she wasn't happy about being "almost drowned", she didn't struggle to get away. Instead, she trusted my holding her and allowed the bath to continue. She was such a good, little girl.
After the bath, she also wasn't at all bothered by my blowing her dry with the noisy hair drier. To this day, our adults Bella and Chile HATE the hair drier and refuse to be dried with it. Bailey, on the other hand, loves the hair drier and enjoys my pointing it her way when I'm drying my own hair. Each dog has their own personality. Our new little girl isn't shy and submissive. She also doesn't seem to be headstrong and uncooperative. She merely seems to go with the flow with whatever is happening. She's unbelievably sweet.
As soon as the bath was over, her little tail was affectionately wagging just as happily as it had before she got the big surprise of running water directly into her upturned face. It's going to be fun to see this personality blossom. Her next bath will be in our new Aspen Green kitchen sink.
